Shave But Not Your Acne!

Acne is a skin condition where the face, neck, shoulder, and upper back have small red bump like structures that can be full of pus in some cases. When men suffer from acne shaving becomes a major problem for them. While the whole face is full of uneven eruptions, one has to be very careful in using sharp razors.

Most of the men have pimples during their teens. But it cannot be concluded that pimply skin condition is during teenage only, most of the people suffer from pimples till their 40s. In some cases it is intense, and in other it comes and goes with little effect. Acne is caused by hormonal imbalance that can be experienced by anyone at any age. Those who regularly suffer from pimples face hell lot of problem while shaving.

Shaving is a problem for men with pimples because the sharp razor can nick the acne and bruise the skin anytime. Especially if the acne is a cyst the nicking can lead to bloodshed, and later leave deep scars on your face. That is why men with acne are seen with deep pothole like scars on their face. But my friend you cannot stop shaving only because of bad skin conditions.

Tips for a Smooth Shave During Acne

  • Pat your face with lukewarm water to make the hair follicles softer resulting in a smooth shave. If you can wash with mild soap, it makes the shave even easier.
  • Try to have close look at your face while shaving in order to avoid nicking any tiny bump that you might have.
  • Try using a good electric razor to avoid nicking the acne heads. Electric razors help avoid cuts during shaving. But do not try and press razor at one point in order to take out one single hair.
  • Closing against the grain is the best way to achieve a close shave. A close shave tends to increase the problem of pimples. But if you shave with the grain of your facial hair then that's a less-close shave and pimples might reduce.
  • Don't forget to use a good after-shave lotion after you finish shaving. It is really important to use antiseptic in order to protect the cuts in acne from further infection.
  • If you have a very acne-prone skin, use a gel based shaving cream, rather than an oil based cream.

If you follow the above guidelines, shaving can become smooth for your acne prone face. But don't lose your heart if there is one or two nick at times. Just be careful to apply a good aftershave lotion to cure the cut. Shaving is nothing to be afraid of if you have acne.
