Wonder What Causes Acne?

Acne is so prevalent a problem among youngsters, and to some extent among adult population as well, in its various forms, and thanks to the Internet knowledge on any topic is so easily available that it sees like a wonder that someone would actually wonder as to what causes acne. Most of the people would agree with me that the causes of acne are rooted in growth hormones. That is why many teenagers are afflicted with acne. The reason why all teenagers are not affected is probably explained by genetics. Acne mechanica is caused by continual physical abuse of the skin like tight shoulder straps or rough inner wear constantly rubbing against the skin. Adult acne too is caused by genes or sometimes like all acne, by stress, too much exposure to harsh climate, lack of proper sleep, or even as an allergic reaction to oily, spicy junk food.

Even as facial acne is the most prevalent form of acne, back acne is also not so rare. Although the causes of back acne are much the same, too much exposure to sunshine that causes perspiration cause back acne. However, the problem of back acne is unique because of its awkward position. Reaching the back to apply something that soothes the skin becomes difficult. Also the fact that the back is covered most of the time adds to the severity of the problem, But a person is saved from the embarrassment felt by someone suffering from facial acne.

That brings us to acne physical effects. The physical effects of acne are usually only skin deep as acne is essentially a skin problem. At the most, in its severest form, acne cyst or acne rosacea, the eruptions are pretty big in size, swelled up, reddish, pus-filled, and cause much irritation, itching and pain. It is not less by any standards, but cannot be worse than that. However, much more serious are the effects they have on person’s self-esteem and social image. That raises an alarm for acne to be treated seriously and effectively.

How To Get Rid Of Acne Scars

The seemingly small word ‘acne’ signifies a comparatively much bigger problem; one that essentially is a two-in-one problem most of the time. The problem of acne often brings along with it the problem of acne scars. So it is not only acne that we have to tolerate and cure but also acne scars that follow as an aftermath that we need to get rid of. And neither problem  is easy to deal with. But as they say, no problem is there without a solution; and acne and acne scar removal are no exceptions.

But first things first, what are the causes of acne in the first place? Its not a scientific cause-effect like phenomenon that can lead us to conclude that acne is avoidable. Rather, it is a natural accompaniment to the growth process, triggered by hormones over which you have little control. The skin type that we inherit genetically or the immune system that goes with it explains the existence and persistence of acne but then does help little as far as preventing acne is concerned. The other causes of acne that acne research has shown are mostly based on symptomatic observations  like climate and food that may or may not be applicable to each and every case of acne. . Many people have controlled thier acne by following a strict food regime. Generally, toxins and spicy and oily food aggravate acne.

Normally, the problem of acne starts with very small eruptions popularly known as whiteheads or blackheads that are irritating owing to their position and ugly looks only. Teenagers obsessed
with their looks just cannot help leaving them alone to heal by themselves. Their scratching it causes itching and reddishness on the nearby skin. Frequent self-examination provokes application of instant cure promising creams and gels that seldom help. In fact, the situation worsens and pimples give way to bigger boils that spread over a greater area and get pus filled. The ugly looks progressively turn uglier; the condition now termed as cystic acne
gets beyond an individual’s control and the skin specialist has to take over. His medication normally includes anti-biotics to be taken orally. The treatment time gets longer and depression and self-esteem take over with the overall situation getting worse.
