It is not easy to control, much less your acne, still it pays to practice acne control as it helps redeem your self esteem; however, it is important to understand control. Control the urge to aggressively control acne and you have achieved control; at least as far as acne is concerned. Does not sound very promising, though it is tested and tried and vouched for by many people.
Why I am saying this is because as we all know, acne is a very normal feature accompanying growth, but since it occurs only in some and not all teenagers and affects mostly the face it brings with it feelings of shame and embarrassment leading to a depleted sense of self esteem and desperate actions like scratching, excessive washing, and frequent application of all sorts of skin products promising sure shot instant acne solution. All this, to our utter shock and dismay leads to worsening of the acne condition, namely the pimples get bigger and numerous, appearing very ugly and cause more physical and much greater mental and emotional discomfort. Even the negative feelings add up to this condition by generating hormones that aggravate the condition. Any physical healing process is hindered or accelerated by the patient’s mental status, has been experienced often and also certified by doctors.
Therefore acne skin care must take advantage of this fact although it is very-very difficult to practice. What one needs, at least in the early stages of the problem is to let nature take its course, use mild skin care products for washing the acne affected skin and take time to use natural products like yogurt regularly, and stop worrying. Sleep well, eat healthy home cooked food to avoid toxins, try avoiding the harsh climate if you can, and within weeks the results would stun you.

Naturally, comes the spontaneous and natural answer, but that is not what happens normally, as we all know. What starts as a very normal growth phenomenon during teens and can pass away on its own very soon leads to ugly scars. The reason is more due to the embarrassment and less, but still, due to the itching and discomfort that accompanies pimples. The person yields to the temptation of tampering the facial skin by scratching and pressing the pimple or washing it again and again or simply applying commercially advertised acne products that may or may not affect the pimples. All this plus the negative feelings of depression actually hinder the healing process rather than accelerate it. The result is that acne heals very slowly and also gives way to scars. The worst part is, like acne, acne scars also do not go away easily.
The prevalence of acne is widespread and so are its causes. Many people have researched the subject of causes of acne and ways to prevent and cure it over centuries and are still continuing. Changing times and changing lifestyles have added to the list of possible causes of acne. The major cause that explains acne is hormones that are genetic by nature. Still all children do not inherit the same genes and individual characteristics decide the occurrence of acne. Other factors causing acne are harsh climatic conditions, chemicals in cosmetics that are used over long periods, and sometimes eating too much of junk food that contains harmful fats.
Although acne affects mostly teenagers, it is fairly common to find acne-affected people belonging to other age groups as well. Baby acne affecting babies a few months old is not surprising nor is acne rosacea that affects adults past middle age. Blessed are those who never have acne, yet others would do well to leave their acne to heal up naturally with minimum interference and minimize the possibility of developing acne scars.
