Tips To Get Acne Free Skin Naturally

Acne is the most common skin problem faced by teenagers and young adults. It is marked by the eruption of pimples, mostly on the face, back, chest and shoulders. A variety of medication, treatments, cleansers and cosmetics are available to help you get acne-free skin. Of these the pro-active acne treatment is considered the most effective and economical.

Some tips to get rid of acne are mentioned below-

  • Drink sufficient water - Drinking ample water is the most effective, plain and natural way to maintain a healthy, acne free skin. About 8-10 glasses of water per day are required to flush out the toxins from the body to keep the skin clear and glowing.
  • Gentle cleaning of skin - Getting harsh on skin by rubbing and scrubbing it does not reduce acne. Instead, washing the skin with a mild cleanser or toner twice a day is recommended for acne sufferers. Astringent is suggested only for extremely oily skin and is to be used only on acne spots.
  • Avoid skin handling - Pricking, squeezing or pinching acne causes skin inflammation and often leads to acne scars. Rubbing and touching of the skin with hands must be avoided as well.
  • Shave Carefully - Men suffering from facial acne can use electric or safety razors for shaving. However they should soften the stubble with soap and water before using the shaving cream. Shaving must be done lightly and gently.
  • Healthy and balanced diet - A greater intake of vegetables, fruits, nuts, juices and salad in the daily diet reduces free radicals in the body, thereby enhancing blood circulation. Avoid excessive intake of caffeine, sugar and carbohydrates which stimulate sebaceous glands to produce more oil.
  • Avoid sun-tanning - Skin tanning can make the skin appear dry and free from blemishes, but the effect is only temporary. Excessive sun exposure can cause serious damage to the skin. In fact some of the acne treatment medications make the skin more prone to sunburn.
  • Choice of cosmetics - Cosmetics, which are directly applied on the skin, must be oil free. Hair styling products including gels and oils, when come in contact with the skin, often cause acne. Non-comedogenic products prevent the growth of blemishes. So make a wise choice!
  • Regular exercise - Include regular workout and exercise for at least half an hour, five days a week, in to your daily routine. This improves the blood circulation, and clears the body of its toxins. It also provides the skin with oxygen, thereby replenishing it further.
  • Sufficient sleep - Plenty of rest and sleep is effective in recharging the skin and immune system. Normally, 8 hours of daily sleep is considered as "beauty sleep".
